Timing is everything.

I started up this blog about a week ago, finally fed up and disheartened with the broken and lack of functionality of the outdated version of wordpress which was running on journals.ie and the fact that it was honestly not a priory for the boards ltd tech staff as they were tasked with sorting out the main site and honestly it’s good that is the way things are esp when things like today happen.

So I got out and got the data files from the old blog roughly 5 years worth.
I do intent on transferring the files to here if I can find away to do it, journals.ie exported it all as 1 rather large XML file which is 4 times the size of the limit for uploading to this blog and this one is looking for WRX file, oh the joys.

But hopefully there is a way to do it, and hell I may even learn a thing or three trying.

I will miss journals.ie but at this stage only myself and on other were regularly using the site and I miss how it use to have blogs by a lot of people I got to know on boards.
Not everything someone wants to talk about can fit in even one of the numerous forums on the site and most of what they posted was well worth reading.

I’ve never done the blogoshere thingy, it’s very odd at times and can seem very cliquey from the outside looking in, I have used live journal for a similar amount of time but that again was a different group a different community and most people in the Irish Gaming community. So I don’t write here to get notice or acclaim I write here mostly for me, things I want to say and things I want to remember and look back on.

Which I guess is why I clung on to the journals.ie site for so long, there I have scrap booked so much of what was going on in my life and what I was thinking about certain things and I didn’t want to have the hassle of trying to put it up else were.

So what will be up here, as the title of the blog suggest what ever I get passionate about, things which interest me, irk me annoy me, and information on things which other people not knowing does my head in so that I can point them to them. I guess with the zip file on my desk top and journals.ie being down and the gods only know when it’s coming back it is what has forced me not to think of here as a replace me for the other one but this is now my new scrapbook and rant space and after 5 years I wonder what the next will hold and what I will write about.

boards.ie hacked!

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/private.php

We are undergoing maintenance

Fellow Boards Members,

Today, Thursday 21 Jan 2009 at 11:20 GMT the Boards.ie database was attacked by a source external to Ireland. This triggered our security response policy and as a result we are sending you this warning email.

In this attack, part of the database which includes our members usernames, email addresses and obfuscated passwords was accessed. While our investigations indicate that individual user accounts are not in danger we have taken the step of changing all user passwords.

We also recommend that if you used the same username/email and password on other sites that you change your password there too as a precaution.

What happened:

* This morning our database server was accessed by an unauthorised source.
* We discovered this intrusion and took the site offline.
* As a precaution We contacted the Gardaí, the Data Protection Commissioner and an independent security consultancy.
* We have followed the advice we have received on how to proceed.
* Like all large sites we are regularly the target for disruption and take continual actions to proactively protect your data. This particular attack was completely unprecedented despite our rigorous security measures and while we have no idea if this data will be used for any malicious reasons, we felt it vital to tell you this immediately.

What you need to know and do:

* If you use the same password on Boards as you do on other services, you should change it on those other services to be safe. Boards passwords are NOT stored in plain text, they are obscured with the standard vBulletin “Hash”. While this provides strong protection, we have altered all passwords on Boards as a precaution and suggest you take this time to allter other similar passwords.
* If you are a subscriber, please be assured, we do NOT store credit card details or any payment details on our servers. Nothing of that nature is held on our site and as a result such data was not compromised.
* We apologise for this inconvenience. We do not want to over stress the problem, however we felt the situation requires full disclosure.

Tom Murphy.

I am so glad that the password that I use for my boards account is not used for anything else, I am a but concerned re the email address but time will tell.
All of the sites and domains which boards ltd own are down and may remain so while they figure out what happened.

The timing it seems was pretty awful with some of the threads which were on going and hot topics on the site in the helpdesk forum and feedback forums. While this enforced time out mean that people will have cooler heads going back or result in them feeling that well I managed with out the site for an extended amount of time and detach from it?

As ever we live in intresting times and it will be interesting to see what the impact down time and breach in security will lead to, and who will profit by it, if anyone.

Endings and beginnings.

Endings can be beginnings, this blog is just beginning and a one I had else where will be ending but I hope to transfer what I had there to here if the export file is salvageable. Cos really my insane mutterings have to go somewhere or else I could end up ranting to myself in the street like a mad woman.

Sorry I can’t come out tonight I am dying my labia!

So it turns out keep young a beautiful is no longer just about your face if your female.

Vulva’s come in a range of sizes, shapes and colours just like women do and
that colour can change due to a range of things. Usually phyical maturity does it, just like how a woman’s nipples darken with maturity, pregnancy and breastfeeding so too can vulva. This got covered in this little snip which I have to say was informative and damn funny as the men on the panel try to not look uncomfortable.

http://thedoctorstv.com/main/procedure_list/630

But the vulva model is very bright in colour and appears to have really no clit.

Lipstick mimics on the face the flushed colorful appearance of the lips of the vulva when there is increased blood flow to the area, but is seems that with women being more aware of the look of their genitals they want them to be a prettier colour or to look younger.

Personally I am baffled by this but there has been a product released to do this, I know after anus bleaching kits I shouldn’t be that surprised but I am.
The labia dye kit is called My New Pink Button and comes in a range of shades named after film stars, apprently after being applied to the area it last 48 to 72 hours.

As if women don’t have enough to be worrying about and enough cosmetic procedures to do before a date, never mind this, and I really can’t see this being a good thing for the health aspects of introducing pretty unnecessary chemicals.

Speaking of which I have also recently discovered vagina mints.
I’m not kidding, as if the natural odours of the yoni were as bad as someone with bad breath. It’s called Linger and apprently you insert them and they slowly dissolve and given that the main ingredient is sugar it’s a good way to get thrush, you may has well have the natural yogurt on stand by or just skip the mint and have your partner use a dollop of yogurt instead.

I know there maybe women out there who will feel better about themselves if they think they have the pinkest mintiest pussy ever but the thoughts of it make me and my yoni cringe.

Legal Pagan Marriage

With effect from 15th December 2009,
the National Coordinator of Pagan Federation Ireland,
has been registered on the Register of Solemnisers,
under the terms of Section 53(3) of the Civil Registration Act 2004.

Consequently, it is now possible to be legally married
in a Pagan ceremony in Ireland

If you wish to be legally married in a Pagan ceremony,
please contact paganfederationireland@gmail.com
to discuss the necessary requirements.

Whats a solmeniser?
A solmeniser is a religious person who acts as a functionary and will sign the forums needed to make a marriage legal which are then processed by the register of births, deaths and marriages.

http://www.groireland.ie/getting_married.htm

2.2 MARRIAGE BY RELIGIOUS CEREMONY

Marriages by religious ceremony may be performed according to the customs and ceremonies of the church or religious body which is carrying out the ceremony. However, all the civil requirements set out in Section 1 must first be complied with and the couple must have been issued with a Marriage Registration Form by a registrar which they must show to the person solemnising the marriage. The solemniser must also be a registered solemniser, nominated by his or her church or religious body, and it is the responsibility of the couple to ensure that the person they wish to solemnise their marriage is on the Register of Solemnisers.

Temporary registrations of solemnisers of religious marriages are possible for those who only wish to solemnise a specific marriage or to solemnise marriages for a specific period of time.

The venue for a religious marriage is a matter for the authorities of the church or religious body under whose auspices the marriage is being performed.

All marriages, civil or religious, must take place at venues which are open to the public

The ceremony must be performed in the presence of two witnesses who are both over 18 years of age. Both parties must make two declarations:- a) that neither of them knows of any impediment to the marriage; and b) that they accept each other as husband and wife.

At the end of the ceremony, the solemniser, the couple, and the witnesses must all sign the MRF. The completed MRF should be given to a registrar (not necessarily the registrar who issued it) within 1 month of the ceremony, so that the marriage can be civilly registered. Please note that you will not be able to obtain a civil marriage certificate until such time as the MRF has been returned to a registrar and the marriage is civilly registered.

Gone before Santa came.

And there is somthing about the festive season which isn’t quiet right with out a bit of that little matchstick girl feeling, the there for but for the grace of what ever go I.

I’m back from a funeral, the mother of one of children’s class mates died over the weekend leaving her husband and 4 children behind the youngest being twins who are only 11.
The church as the saying goes was black, as she was well known in the community and will be missed. Her husband looked heart broken and her eldest daughter tried to hold the family together and the boys just looked lost.

The most wonderful time of the year except when it’s not and then it’s really not.

What’s the difference between rape and sexual assault?

Given what is going on with the reporting on the reports of the sexual assault case in Listowel,
I have found myself having to explain to people again and again the difference between rape and sexual assault. Which just hammers home how little irish people in general seem to know about
rape, sexual assault and consent.

I ain’t dead.

I have been battling a chest infection for the last week and it’s been winning was at the dr and have been giving fecking horse tables of amoxicilllin, between that and not sleeping and what now seem to be my lemsip habit, I just don’t currently have the mental clarity to be doing well anything. I stood staring at my sock drawer unable to decided between stripey and non stripey so long I zoned out completely.

I got asked what I was planning on doing for dinner yesterday and couldn’t think and nearly started crying, I don’t want to think about what still needs to be done for the festive season.

At least the tablets from the Dr and the two types of steroid creams for my psoriasis seem to be starting to work and my face no longer looks like I “had a bit of an argument with a cheese grater” and that quote was from my Dr, wonder lady but was trying to make me laugh to make me cough again.

The kids are ok, thankfully not sick and not poking too much fun at my lack of brain, I can’t focus enough to read anything for any length of time and when I try to watch a movie find myself staring into space and I have not had a cup of coffee in 5 days, the sooner I am out of this hell the better.

They took out insurance, they knew it was happening, they covered it up, they didn’t report the crimes,
they got those crimes when reported swept under the carpet and when it looked like it was going to become public, they took out insurance against claims against them.

I never felt as much ire directed at the institution of the catholic church as what I do today.
I could accept that there were rotten apples in the priesthood, I could accept that it was a different era.

I could accept that there was not the same guidelines on child protection that we have now but
the church took out insurance.

I don’t think any amount of insurance policies will ever be able to cover for the counseling and therapy of those who were abuse and of their families who have suffered either from the revelations or from having lived a life with someone who was damaged from being a victim of clerical child sex abuse as a partner or as a parent.
